Yellow-bellied toad

Yesterday I’ve read something about all toads being frogs, but not all frogs being toads. And I wondered, okay, so… What kind of toads are there. And then found this precious baby.

Meet Yellow-Bellied Toad:

  • The larges of them are still no more than 6cm (~55mm), making them real smol!
  • They don’t have a vocal bladder, so their mating calls are quite gentle and melodic.
  • They’re dependent on small, temporary water bodies, so in modern civilized world they can live in puddles formed in tractor tracks and such.
  • Cute little things.
